Technology in Patient Care
At Midtown Medical Center, we integrate technology into our daily workflow to make care more organized, efficient, and accurate. Patients can book appointments online, receive reminders, and complete intake forms before their visit using secure digital tools accessible by phone or computer.
These systems help the care team maintain up-to-date information and reduce administrative delays, allowing more time to focus on clinical care. Communication between patients and staff is also improved through digital channels, supporting timely follow-up and clear documentation.
Here is a few of the ways we optimize your patient care:
Cortico
Online Booking
Cortico allows patients to schedule appointments at their convenience, saving time waiting on the phone or for a call back. The platform provides instant confirmation and automated reminders to reduce missed appointments and improve continuity of care.
Pre-Visit Preparation
Before an appointment, patients can update demographic details with cortico. This helps ensure records are accurate and allows the physician to review relevant information in advance.
Cortico Kiosk Check-In
On arrival, patients can use the Cortico kiosk to register or check in with their health card. This process shortens wait times, maintains privacy, and reduces errors in record-keeping. The kiosk also allows patients to verify or update their information securely.
Heidi AI
Heidi AI is a secure digital scribe used to assist in clinical documentation. It helps summarize visit details and organize historical records, improving accuracy and reducing clerical workload. Studies show that physicians spend the majority of their time doing paperwork, including documentation. Using an AI scribe frees up that time for us to focus on what matters most: patient care.
AI is never, nor will it ever be used to make diagnostic or treatment decisions by any of the staff or physicians at Midtown Medical Center. Patients may opt out of AI assistance at any time.
Environmental and Workplace Technology
The clinic uses a robot vacuum and mop to maintain cleanliness daily, supporting infection control and patient comfort.
Contact free hand sanitizing stations are available in all exam rooms for patients and staff to maintain proper hand hygeine
Bluetooth notification devices (for specimen procurement) and secure staff messaging systems are used internally to improve communication and coordination during clinic operations.
Clinic rooms are equipped with ergonomic desks to promote staff comfort and efficiency during clinical hours (waiting on the millwork for the front desk)
